What is Paspartu Rug?

In the art world, "passe-partout" refers to the matting that frames a work, adding value to it. Apex Halı's Paspartu collection is exactly that: a complementary element that frames your furniture, your home's decor, and the soul of your space, adding meaning to the floor.

Woven on special looms from a blend of Acrylic Chenille and Cotton, Paspartu is one of Apex's most densely structured rug collections, weighing 3,000 g/m². This density translates to longevity, a strong texture, and a high-quality feel underfoot.

Special Loom Weaving: What's the Difference?

Unlike standard machine-made rugs, Paspartu is woven on special looms. This process is slower, but the result is distinctly different: pattern details are clearer and sharper, color transitions are smoother, and the yarn placement is tighter and more regular. The velvety surface of the chenille yarn is particularly pronounced during this process.

Pattern Variety: From Classic to Modern

The Paspartu collection is not limited to a single style. Variants include traditional medallion patterns, Afghan-origin geometric motifs, and modern straight-line designs. Thanks to this wide range, Paspartu can be the right choice for a classic living room as much as for a modern workspace.

Paspartu Rug Care

Due to the nature of chenille yarn, Paspartu rugs are only suitable for professional cleaning. If attempted at home, chenille yarns may change shape and the pattern integrity may be compromised. For daily care, a vacuum cleaner can be used; hold the vacuum head perpendicular to the rug surface and avoid applying excessive pressure.

Which Spaces Are They Suitable For?

Living rooms, dining rooms, and offices are the main areas of use. With high stylistic flexibility depending on the variant, Paspartu harmonizes equally well with furniture reflecting traditional Turkish-Ottoman aesthetics and with spaces decorated in a modern Scandinavian style.
